Renas Arif lives in Amsterdam. He was born in the Iraqi Kurdistan. As a small child Was he always made his toys in wood and clay. Starting at the age of ten he made drawings and paintings of his favourite cartoon films.
After that he made cartoons and tried to make portraits of his teachers and friends in the classroom.
In 1995 Renas left Kurdistan and moved to Holland where he continues to develop his career in art.
During his studies he started to make caricature portraits for people in the festivals and in the national events like: 'koninginnedag and the Libration's day.
After the graduating of Arts academy; 'Rietveld academy' in Amsterdam.
He learned among other things how to use different illustration techniques, how to make art works in various media, portrait/ caricature/ cartoon and model drawing, different styles like abstract and realistic, art history, graphic design, advertising and video art.
He participated in group exhibitions in the following areas: Netherlands, Japan, Iran, Turkey, Iraq, and Columbia.
Most popular works are cartoons, illustrations, and wall painting.
